Title | : | Crafts Bazaar 2008 - An Exposé of Indian Handicrafts |
Description | : | Kala Tarang’s Craft Bazaar - 2008 will showcase ancient Indian crafts by means of a wide range of artifacts and curios, clothes, paintings and accessories and home furnishings. Each item will be a classic fusion of centuries old crafts and modern fashion, use and relevance. The pieces have been sourced from traditional craftspersons themselves or from NGOs who work closely with them. The crafts showcased will range from pottery, metal work to embroideries, textiles, folk paintings and more. All items on display and sale in the exhibition will be entirely handmade in one or more of these ancient crafts. The products will be made with natural raw materials extracted using sustainable processes. Yet the range of colours you will see will boggle your mind. The number of colours that can be created with simple things like leaves, bark, fruits, mud, etc. is fascinating. While being creations of traditional processes, these will be items that will blend perfectly with modern décor and style. So go green without going drab! |
