As some members are aware, VR-Zone is currently doing a Charity PC donation drive. The recipients for these PCs will be Kampong Kapor Family Service Centre. The computers will be donated to low-income families. We hope this email blast will reach out to more of our members.
Currently the responses have been motivating. However, we lack some components: mainly LCD monitors, DDR2 rams and optical drives. We appeal to members to spread the word as we are aware that LCD monitors are hard to come by. :(
Many have queried why do we have the audacity to ask for LCD for a donation drive?
Our rationale is simple: We would like the less fortunate to be able to enjoy the comfort that most of us have. Not to forget that LCD monitors generally consumes less electricity compared to conventional CRTs. This will help bring down the electricity bills for the less fortunate. Another factor in mind are the space constraints. We speculate that space may also be a constraint for the less fortunate.
With all the considerations above, we decided that LCD monitors are the way to go.
